Prakasam Barrage is completely closed for traffic and not even for pedestrians. The barrage is closed due to repair works which are going to take place. Until further instructions, the barrage would be closed and below are the alternative routes

Vehicles proceeding from Gollapudi, Kummaripalem and One Town areas will be diverted from Sitara Centre, Milk Factory, Chittinagar, Panja Centre, Railway Booking Counter, RTC Terminal, Low Bridge, Prakasam Statue, Police Control Room, Bandar Locks and enter National Highway 9 and cross the district via. Kanakadurga Varadhi.

Traffic coming from Bandar and Eluru Roads will be diverted to the NH-9 from Bandar Locks and reach Kanakadurga Varadhi.

Traffic coming from Guntur, Seetanagaram, Tadepalli and other places from Guntur district will not be allowed on the barrage.

APSRTC is running special buses from Vijayawada, Guntur and Mangalagiri to Velagapudi. The new buses would run till 11.00 PM in the night. RTC is planning to run bus for every 20 minutes from Guntur, Mangalagiri and Rain Tree Park.

Right now, two buses are running from Guntur and six buses from Mangalagiri fro every 20 minutes and 12 buses from Vijayawada.

The APSRTC Guntur Region will operate as many as 11 Metro Buses to Velagapudi from different parts of Guntur.

In addition to these bus services, one bus each will be operated from all the 13 depots under the region, while nine buses will be operated between Mangalagiri and Velagapudi.

The secretariat which is getting ready at Velgapaudi is going to starts its operations in the 5th block from today. At 2.59 PM, the 5th block would be started formally. Four departments – Housing, Panchayat Raj, Medical & Health and Labour will shift to the Secretariat at Velagapudi. These departments were allotted the ground floor in the fifth block. The employees from these four departments will perform puja in their respective offices

AP chief secretary S.P. Tucker and the ministers of these four departments – K. Mrunalini, Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu, K. Atchennaidu and Kamineni Srinivas-and the secretaries of these departments will be present at the temporary Secretariat.

About 200 employees from the four departments, including section officers, assistant section officers and other staff, including outsourced and contract employees, will report for duty.
