AMARAVATI: TDP National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said that arrests, humiliations, lathicharges and caste-based attacks marked the Amaravati agitation which entered the 150th day today.

He lauded the indomitable spirit of farmers, farm coolies, women and others who were courageously facing all sorts of atrocities being perpetrated by the YSR Congress Party Government. He said that they were all fearlessly agitating for the cause of saving and protecting Amaravati Capital City.

In a message on twitter, Mr. Naidu said that Amaravati struggle would go down in people's memory as a historic agitation for a right cause. It may be recalled the Amaravati agitators were continuing their protests during the Coronavirus lockdown restrictions by strictly following Central government guidelines. The protesters wore face masks, used sanitisers and maintained social distancing norms at their dharna camps in their villages.

In another message, Mr. Naidu condemned the arrests of party leader Bandaru Satyanarayana and other leaders by the police when they made efforts to visit RR Venkatapuram which was affected by LG Polymers gas leak. If everything has come back to normalcy, why were members of the opposition not allowed into the area?

"I am receiving credible news reports that the Government has failed to contain the spread of poisonous gases in the aftermath of the leak. People are talking about a higher ranked police official who participated in the relief efforts being hospitalized," the TDP Chief said.

Mr. Naidu further asked when ministers can spend time doing photo shoots, why were TDP leaders not allowed to meet the affected people and find out their problems. "What is the Government hiding? Why is YS Jagan Mohan Reddy playing with the lives of thousands of residents?" he questioned.

Expressing shock over the Prakasam district fatal mishap, Mr. Naidu conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and demanded that Government to respond with a humanitarian consideration. Within a week of 12 persons perishing in Vizag gas leak, the tractor mishap took place near Raparla village in Naguluppalapadu mandal claiming 9 lives of agricultural coolies. He demanded proper medical treatment to the injured coolies.

Andhra Pradesh IT minister Nara Lokesh will inaugurate 16 IT companies at Phycare IT Park and NRT Tech Park at Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Wednesday. In the initial phase, all the companies will create about 650 jobs. The highest number of jobs will be provided by Make My Clinic India Pvt Limited, which operates in Healthcare IT, with 300 jobs.

AMARAVATI: TDP former Minister Nakka Ananda Babu on Thursday strongly objected to the YSR Congress Party Government's move to sell state lands in the name of 'Build AP' programme without having any concrete plans for bringing in development. He wondered how this Government could sell lands at a time when the Coronavirus epidemic lockdowns have caused financial distress everywhere and real estate values have touched rock bottom with no transactions taking place anywhere.

Addressing a virtual press conference here, the Telugu Desam Party leader said that a prime piece of land belonging to the labour department in Guntur city was allotted for construction a new division of the Government General Hospital there during the previous TDP regime. But now, the same land was put up for sale by YSRCP without any consideration for rising health needs of the people. Mr. Ananda Babu accused the Jaganmohan Reddy Government of hatching a conspiracy to loot prime Government lands under Build AP and already some lands were being soled in Visakhapatnam and Guntur. The ruling party leaders' game plan was obviously to take over ownership of these prime lands in the names of their benamis. From Volunteers to MLAs and Ministers, all YSRCP leaders were now busy looting Andhra Pradesh in every way possible.

The TDP leader said that the ruling party leaders have been making huge money by plundering sand, liquor, soil and mines, and they were now bent on snatching away prime properties of the Government all over. In villages, local residents were being terrified by YSRCP miscreants who were looting sand by shifting hundreds of lorry loads everyday and threatening locals if they try to confront them. The ruling party was committing all this corruption in the name of welfare but so far even the Navaratnalu promises were not fulfilled to the people.

The Indo UK Institute of Health (IUIH), one of the world’s largest healthcare projects with an investment of Rs 1,7600 crores in India, announced that the development work of the second of its 11 Medicities to come up in 11 Indian states at Amaravati, the new state capital of Andhra Pradesh, is slated to begin soon. IUIH is scheduled to get possession of allotted land from Andhra Pradesh government anytime now.
