Temperatures that have been on the rise for the past one week hit new heights in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

On Monday, the highest day temperature of 43 degree Celsius was recorded in Nandigama, followed by Vijayawada at 42 Celsius.

Heat wave like conditions prevailed across the sate since 11 AM yesterday. Meteorological Department Officials are saying that, similar hot conditions are likely to prevail for at least another two or three days. People have been advised to take necessary health precautions to overcome the heat related problems.

Film hero, U.Krishnam Raju has given valuable land for expansion of Gannavaram Airport.

Mr.Raju purchased around 32 acres of land long ago at Gannavaram Mandal. For Gannavaram Airport expansion, as many as 475 land owners have come forward to give 494.22 acres of land so for and that Mr.Krishnam Raju was one among them.

The Government has planned to acquire 1,229 acre from 926 land owners. The government would pay the compensation to all the land owners on the lines of Amaravati capital city land pooling package.

As part of it, the government would give a house site in 1,000 square yards and commercial land in 200 square yards for each acre. An amount of Rs.50,000 would be given as lease amount to landowners within 15 days of giving consent to the state.

Indian Coast Guard has plans to establish a Coast Guard Station at Machilipatnam. It has plans to shift its existing station at Nizampatnam to Machilipatnam. Coast Guard has been facing difficulties in berthing its operational ships at Nizampatnam due to less draft.

Inspector General SP Sharma said that "We are not able to operate ships at Nizampatnam though state government had allotted land for us there in the wake of a port planned in the region. Now that the port, has not come up in Nizampatnam and there are indications that Machilipatnam port will come up before, we have plans to shift the coast guard station.

At present in the east region that covers, AP, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, Indian Coast Guard has around 33 commissioned ships and 11 non-commissioned crafts and 15 aircraft.

Government of AP announced that they are introducing a 2-month summer fellowship for 30 positions in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Sector of the Industries Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

This Fellowship comes with a performance-linked stipend of up to Rs. 1,20,000, along with accommodation and travel support. Students and working professionals under 35 years of age can apply, on or before 10th April 2016.
