Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the second phase of Chinthalapudi lift irrigation project at Maddulaparuvu village in Reddugudem mandal of Krishna district on Thursday.

Speaking on the occassion Naidu said that his started the ritual of respecting water in the name of Jalasiri ki Harathi.

He said that the second phase of Chinthalapudi lift irrigation project, with an estimated cost of Rs.4909 crore will be completed by 2019.

The Golden Mile project, is all set for Inauguration on Bandar Road in Vijayawada. The project purpose is to make M.G. Road into a smart street. This is a pilot project of the smart city initiative of the State government and once it is success, this would be implemented all over the state.

Cisco India Ltd and its partner Quantela, are handling this project in Vijayawada. The project includes full-fledged electronic surveillance, smart kiosks at public places, digital classrooms, smart transport, environment watch, smart parking on Bandar Road from Control room to Benz Circle.

There are 100 surveillance cameras, four are smart enough to calculate the density of traffic in a particular stretch of the road. There are 33 access points through which free WiFi will be provided.

Also there are two smart kiosks set up in the PVP Square Mall and the Trendset Mall, where people can make online payments of taxes and view information related to the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday directed officials of the energy department to prepare a comprehensive short-term action plan for 2 years and 4 years along with a long-term plan for eight years and finally, 25 years to provide power supply of the best quality at affordable prices.

In a brief interaction with top-level power Sector officials during a tele Conference on the impact of global technologies in areas of Solar, Wind and energy efficiency, ahead of a high-level meeting On August 8, the Chief Minister asked the officials to work out the strategy in such a way that it ensures economic sustainability for a minimum of 25 years to any entrepreneur/multinational companies which Wants to establish mega industries in state.

He observed that with pro-consumer policy of the AP State Regulatory Commission's, overall 98 per cent of the consumers are exempted from tariff hike. He said his government is firm in its resolve to provide the fruits of second phase power sector reforms to the consumers, by not putting a single paise burden on the public in the forthcoming electricity tariff (2018-19) revision.

Naidu told the officials that he strongly believed that a minimum of Rs.2,000 crore could be saved from Cost reduction mechanism and better practices in the areas of generation, transmission, distribution, and power purchases among others and reduce revenue deficit.

Minister for Energy K Kala Venkata Rao was asked to ensure 100 per cent involvement of people by ensuring public participation and creating awareness programmes with regard to second phase of power sector reforms.

Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, is one of the jewel in the cap of Naidu's administration in united Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu Naidu is now planning to bring such a big B-School ike ISB in Amaravati.

This would be the Naidu's brainchild and this biggest B-School is proposed to be set up in the Amaravati in 100 acres at a cost of 500 crore. Pramath Raj Sinha, founding dean of ISB and co-founder of Ashoka University, is going to be consultant for this Project.

Naidu is going to pitch in giants like London School of Economics, Harvard Kennedy School, National University of Singapore, University of Birmingham. Various UN agencies, the World Bank, ADB and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are some of the other intended global partners for the project.
