Ugadi,Telugu New Year's Day which is auspicious for people of the Deccan region of India covering Andhra Pradesh is considered to be one of the best days.On this auspicious day our government used to celebrate it with special programs. In Hyderabad before division of state special programs was held in Ravindra Bharathi. After the state was divided , Ugadi first telugu new year was celebrated near Amaravati in the presence of Lord Venkateswara in Vykuntapuram.
Last year it became difficult for government officers to manage for celebration of Ugadi. This year Andhra Pradesh government has not yet declared the place where the celebrations of Ugadi are going to held. Some people expecting the celebration in Tullur and some near Vijayawada at Tumalapalli cultural academy.
Ugadi in 2016 will be observed on Friday, 8th April to which not even 10 days was left to blast celebrations of festival. To prepare arragements for festival and send invitations to People’s representatives, Businessmen and other VIP’s itself takes more than a week says planners. Officers has not yet decided the place , which made people think that the celebration for this year will be postponed ?.One of the A.P officer stated that a press note will be released soon clarrifying issues of where to celebrate this telugu new year and the place where events which reflect telugu culture and nature attracting every one who visits. So, now lets keep looking forward for the note that declares of the event.
Truck driver A Nagarjuna, of Kesarapalle located in Vijayawada, created history in Indian motorsports by winning truck racing in the the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship held in Noida on March 20. Nagarjuna won the first place in the second race of the super class category, held for truck drivers from across the country.
He was selected from a pool of over 550 truck drivers, from Tata Motors customers’ fleet businesses, after undergoing a comprehensive driving training and clearing competitive selection programmes. All drivers as part of this program were trained by some of the best racing instructors in the country.
He received a cash award of Rs 10 lakh, while first and second runner ups got Rs 6 lakh and Rs 4 lakh respectively, a press release said here on Monday.

Andhra Pradesh, A Beautiful land of unique temples, pristine beaches, hill stations, scenic backwaters saw and with Visionary Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, 30 per cent growth in tourist footfalls by registering 1,218.3 lakh travelers in 2015.Footfalls in the state increased to 1218.3 lakh last year against 933 lakh in 2014, registering a growth of 30 per cent, according to data provided by Andhra Pradesh government.
"In our Endeavour to make Andhra Pradesh as India’s most preferred tourist destination, this data comes to us as a great encouragement," Andhra Pradesh Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Neerabh Kumar Prasad said.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and with a focused strategy in place, we are hopeful of this growth momentum to be replicated year after year going forward. We will continue to invest and focus to develop tourism in the state of global standard," Prasad said.
Anantapur district which houses the famous Puttaparthi and Lord Veerbhadra temple at Lepakshi, became the most visited destination by foreign tourists with a footfall of 1.37 lakh foreigners. Among international tourist arrivals, 2.37 lakh tourists visited the state during 2015 against 66,333 in 2014. Majority of the foreign tourists were from the South ? East Asian countries like Singapore, Malaysia and the Middle East, among others.
