To overcome the drought situation in the 4 districts of Rayalaseema, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, is going to monitor the situation from the ground level. For the next three days, Andhra Pradesh Administration would be functioning from Rayalaseema.

As many as 21 IAS officers are deployed in Anantapur and Chittor Districts to monitor the drought situation. For every two constituency one minister is given the duty.

Chief Minister has instructed to bring water from coastal districts, through water tankers and use the water to sprinkle the dry fields with rain guns, to save the crops in the four districts of Rayalaseema. Already Guntur District administration has sent around 100 water tankers.

As per the instructions of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, AP Transco and AP Genco are gearing up to supply 600 additional MW power to four Rayalaseema districts of Andhra Pradesh to protect the crops which are withering due to dry spell conditions. The government is trying to get power from all its own resources and purchase power from other States, if necessary to supply 24 hours uninterrupted power to above-mentioned districts.

Energy department estimated that 500 to 600 MW additional power is required to meet the demand in Rayalaseema region this season to save the crops.

The supply of additional power started on Sunday to Rayalaseema districts. Also Government is trying to give daytime power supply to the farmers in the State so that they can use rain guns for Wetting of crops.

A wide range of waters ports in Krishna River at Bhavani Islands are attracting the visitors not only from the surrounding of Guntur and Krishna, but also across the state. Tourism department, with Goa-based yachting firm Champions Yacht Club have come up with more adventurous and attractive water sports, which are attracting the youth.

Yet an another adventurous water sport, was newly introduced, which is "Fly Board". This is a unique and never seen before sport for the citizens of Vijayawada and Guntur. Right now this "Fly Board", is not open to the public and the experts are only demonstrating the experience, as this requires lots of practice.

A board would be fixed the feet, which would be connected to a turbine, which allows to raise in the air, dive and jump out of the water. This takes 30 feet up in the air, with a speed of 25 mph and then quickly dives under the water upto 10 feet and comes out again.

vijayawada outer ring road 29082016

Gammon India Company was asked to step down from outer ring road works of Vijayawada, as they have not completed the work in the given time. The outer ring road was designed to connect the Kaza toll gate junction in Guntur district to Gannavaram mandal in Krishna district passing via Tadepalli and Venkatapalem villages in Guntur district and Nunna, Mustabada villages in Krishna district.

The state government had acquired over 1,100 acres land and handed it over to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for a construction of the outer ring road. The NHAI is trying to complete the part of the outer ring road works connecting Peda Avutupalli village in Gannavaram mandal to Gollapudi village on the outskirts of Vijayawada city.

The government had awarded the work to Gammon India company nearly five years ago. The outer ring road was designed to divert the traffic on Chennai-Kolkata route as well as Hyderabad-Kolkata route. The works connecting Kaza toll plaza to Gollapudi were started but progress is at low pace. As part of the ORR project, 3.2 km bridge will be constructed on Krishna river at a cost of Rs.80 crore at Venkatapalem.

The biggest Laddu in the world is in making for Vijayaka Chavati. Sri Bhaktha Anjaneya Suruchi Foods, popular from Tapeswaram village, which would provide biggest laddus for every Vijayaka Chavati is going to prepare the world’s biggest laddu this time.

While the current biggest laddu record holds with Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust from Gujarat, where the laddu weighing 11,115 Kgs, which is prepared on 24 September 2015. Suruchi Foods, is preparing 12,500 kgs of laddu to Lord Vinayaka in Gajuwaka to break the record. Last year it has provided 6000 kg Laddu. Suruchi Foods is offering the laddu free of cost and this time it is going to cost them Rs.30 lakh.

As many as 20 expert cooks wearing Ganesh Mala will prepare the 12,500 kg laddu. Work will begin on September 2nd and put into display on September 4th and on the evening of September 4th, it would be transported to Visakhapatnam.

400 kgs of cashew nuts, 200 kgs badam nuts, 30 kgs of camphor, 3,350 kgs of Bengal gram, 2,400 kgs ghee and 4,950 kgs of sugar will be used to prepare this gigantic laddu.

The registrations of vehicles in Andhra Pradesh, in the first quarter has soared and raised the eyebrows. This increase is seen in all the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) all over Andhra Pradesh.

Around 3.1 lakh new vehicles were registered in Andhra Pradesh in the first quarter, for the year 2016-17. This is around 15 per cent increase, when compared to the first quarter of 2015- 16. Of this around 2.6 lakh two-wheelers where sold in the first quarter, which is a growth of 13.82 per cent when compared to last fiscal year, at the same time.

Around 18,854 Four-wheelers are purchased, compared to last fiscal year, at the same period. People have purchased 14,393 goods carrying vehicles, 2,779 passenger vehicles and 15,548 auto-rickshaws in the last four months of 2016-17.

Sources say that, Transport department has got revenue of Rs 900 crore in the first quarter through vehicle registrations, taxes and other forms.

Officials are saying that purchase of two-wheelers and luxury and high-end four wheelers have been increasing mostly in Krishna, Vizag and few other districts in the state.
