Vijayawada Municipal Corporation has started beautification of National Highway from Ramavarappadu to Nidamanuru. Recently Chief Minister, while travelling from airport to Vijayawada recently, expressed his displeasure over its upkeep. Chief Minister is also upset over the garbage on either sides of the road. In this regard, Chief Minister instructed VMC to take the beautification of NH-5 and also asked maintain the rods every day. Also CM asked officials to prepare estimates for laying drains and for construction of footpaths with attractive tiles.
Immediately after the instructions from Chief Minister, CRDA and VMC are into action. VMC is placing flower plants along the highway from Ramavarappadu to Nidamanuru. As many as 1,500 flower plants would be placed between Ramavarappadu Junction and Nidamanuru, and raise flower bearing plants in the median of the road. CRDA is planning to keep, Flower pot for every five foot. Also lawn grass is placed on the divider.
