With the good response from citizens for free wifi services in Bandar Road in Vijayawada, VMC is planning to set up wifi in around 61 different centers in the city. Officials are busy in preparing the plans and estimates for this. Also VMC has already identified 61 busy centers in Vijayawada city. With the help of BSNL, VMC is planning to launch this service by March end.
With high end smart phones increasing day by day and as the dependency is increasing on internet, everybody is looking for wifi to connect and browse through phone. Already many commercial establishments, hotels, malls are providing wifi services to their customers. Pandit Nehru Bus Station is already providing free wifi for a limited period. Also recently, VMC has launched free wifi with the help of Reliance Jio on MG Road.
