Vijayawada Municipal Corporation launched a mobile app, first of its kind in India, through which citizens of Vijayawada can use the services and pay all the bills online and register your grievances online. Vijayawada Mayor Koneru Sridhar launched the mobile app in VMC office and G Veerapandian, Municipal Commissioner explained the functioning of the app. Code Tree Software Solution has developed this app. It is first time India, a civic body launched such service.

Below are the Features of the app.

1. Right now it is available for only android users, later it would be extended to other OS

3. We can pay Property Tax, Water Tap Charges, Sewerage Charges, Vacant Land Taxes etc...
4. Also Citizens can lodge complaints in Grievance section, where we can upload the photos also by lodging the complaint. Complaint status also can be viewed by an ID provided.
5. Bills can be paid with Debit and Credit Cards. Around 45 major banks have been integrated.
6. Also there will be an "Alerts" option, which will remind you for you outstanding payments
7. “Apply for Services" option will help to fill application forms such as trade license, Fire NOC, Drainage etc..

Users now can also pay the bills from their Desktop also. Logon to www.ourvmc.org and clcik on "Online Payment" to proceed further.

Women corporators of Vijayawada, have kept aside party differences and came on a common platform to work on women issues in the city. Thanks for the technology, they have formed a WhatsApp group to get in touch with each other. Out of the 59 Divisions in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, 31 Divisions have Women Corporators.

Vasavya Mahila Mandali is conducting a three day orientation and leadership training program. Also the Women Corporators have donated Rs.11,000 to an old age home, which was being administrated by Country Womens Association of India at Gosala.

Chicago University Offered Doctorate to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. In the history of 100 years, The University of Chicago gave doctorate to a foreign political dignitary for the first time, that to for a Indian politician. Our Chief Minister is Honored by CSU.

Chicago University president Dr. Wayne Watson wrote a letter to Mr.Nairu and said that, the decision to award the degree was for the Chief Minister's abilities to envision, plan and bring to fruition transformative changes for the good of Andhra Pradesh people.

Chandrababu Naidu did not accept such honors before from other universities, but now decided to accept from Chicago University keeping in view of its history.
