The market is flooded with Soft Toys, Flower Bouquets, Photo Frames, Chocolates, Cakes, Electronic Gadgets, Greeting cards and lots more. Hotels and restaurants in the Vijayawada City have announced special romantic dinner spreads at attractive prices and special packages. Restaurants have come out with special menus on the Valentine’s Day offering a varied ranged of mixed cuisines and desserts. The online booking for recent releases are already booked at all leading multiplexes in Vijayawada.

E-commerce websites are also offering gifting services where gifts are delivered at doorstep to throw a surprise for their partners. Vijayawada is going to witness more glamour this valentine’s Day.  City will witness a dazzling show that will produce the first ever Tollywood Miss AP. In the past, these events used to be held in Hyderabad.

Sri Sai Creative Entertainments from Vijayawada is going to conduct the event on February 14th from 6.00PM. The event will take place in the open ground of Siddhartha College of Hotel Management at Mogulrajpuram

17 Shortlisted candidates form Vijayawada, Guntur, Nellore, West Godavari, Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam cities will show their talent in the event. In the first round 7 would be selected, in the second round 5 would be selected and finally top three would be selected and the top most will get "Miss AP" crown.

Miss Vijayawada, SriSatya, who is doing her BBA from Siddhartha Mahila College, Miss Vijayawada Runner up, Anne Sanjana and the second runner up, Samaya who is working as Air-hostess are participating in the event from Vijayawada.

Miss Guntur, S.Prasanna, who is doing law at JC College, runner up Kusuma Kumari, who is doing her B.Sc in Abhydaya College are taking part in the event from Guntur.

Film actor Brahmanandam, comedy actor Ali, actress Poonam Kaur, D. Avanindra Kumar of Pranayama Yog and model and upcoming actor Margani Bharath will judge the performances of the participants.

In addition, comedians, singers and dance troupes will entertain the crowd.

‘Chitrakala Santa’, a Mega Art Festival has started in the premises of Kaladarsini, at Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada. Honorable Deputy Speaker Buddha Prasad, IT minister P. Raghunadha Reddy, Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra and Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Uma have participated in the inaugural function.

Members of Telugu World Artists Art Society (TWAAS) are the organizers of this event. The expo will be on for two days, February 13th and 14th. Visitors can come between 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both the days.

Many artists from the state, exhibited varied paintings and art work. A myriad of paintings are figurative with bright colors.

The three day Gundala Mary Matha Fete rnded on Thursday. Around five Lakhs devotees, of all castes and creeds have visited Mary Matha Shrine in Gunadala and offered prayers during the three day festival. Devotees from across the state and neighboring Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and even from the North-east states visited the holy shrine and participated in the festivities. They broke coconuts, lighted candles and their heads tonsured for fulfillment of vows.  

Several food courts and stalls selling various artefacts were set up on the road in front of the Gunadala shrine.

Vijayawada Catholic Diocese head Bishop Telagathoti Joseph Rajarao, Nalgonda Bishop Govinda Joji, former Bishop of Kurnool Mathew Cherian Kunnal, Gunadala shrine rector M Chinnappa and chancellor J. John Raj participated in the holy mass marking the conclusion of the three-day festival.

Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan, Guntur District Collector Kanthilal Dande and his wife, AP Housing Corporation Chairman Jupudi Prabhkara Rao and other VIP's also visited in these three days and participated in the special prayer.
