The Andhra Pradesh State government has decided to hold the Republic Day celebrations this year also in Vijayawada. The Republic Day celebrations will be held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium. Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao organised a coordination meeting at the A.P. Secretariat with the Secretaries and HoDs to take stock of arrangements for the Republic Day Celebrations.

The tableaux of various departments will focus on the developmental activities and schemes taken up by the government such as NTR Jalasiri, Panta Sanjeevani and river linkage-Pattiseema. CS instructed to take special care on the school children and students on their participation and who will perform cultural programmes during the celebrations.

The State government had celebrated the first Republic Day, post-bifurcation, in Vijayawada last year.

Every major city in the country has a marathon held every year. Amaravati is also going to be part of it from this year. The First ‘Amaravati Marathon’ is going to start on January 10th, by Disease Eradication Through Education and Prevention (DEEP), with the support of the Andhra Pradesh Government. It will have only Amaravati Half Marathon, 10 k and 5 k runs. Amaravati Marathon is a platform for people of AP to join hands for not only providing a brighter future for sportspersons but also to support the larger cause of the city.

Amaravati Marathon is a yearly Marathon that symbolises the might and emergence of the People’s Capital. The Marathon will be a first-of-its-kind event that exemplifies the spirit of unity of the citizens of Andhra Pradesh in building India’s youngest and newest city.

The half marathon will begin at 6 a.m.at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium and cover 21.5 km - upto Uddandarayunipalem , where the foundation stone was laid for the new capital for Amaravati. 5K Run will be from Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium to Police Control Room. 10k Run will be from Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium to Sitanagaram. Interested persons can register their names on the website www.amaravatimarathon.run. There is also prize money upto Rs.80,000/-

The registration process is categorized into three parts. For 5K Run it costs Rs.500/-, for 10K Run, it costs Rs.750/-, for Half Marathon it costs Rs.1000/-

Organisers are expecting a turnaround of 15000. Also many famous athletics from various countries are also expected. Telugu, Hindi Cinema actress are also expected to participate in this marathon. Telugu Hero Ram, Hindi Hero Vivek Obrai and other stars are expected.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) property show at A Convention Centre, Vijayawada today, at 9.00 AM. The property show will be for three days on January 8th, 9th and 10th. Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu would participate as chief guest on the concluding day of the property show on January 10. There are a total of 90 stalls in the property show.

The CREDAI was expecting that 15,000 to 20,000 people would visit the show in three days. Lucky dip coupons would be given to every person visiting the show. Three lucky prizes would be given at the end of the show.

The developers, housing finance institutions, banks, realty consultancies, manufacturers, international home products, sanitary, flooring, product suppliers, interior decorators, architects would take part in the show.

A mega job mela will be organised by the Department of Employment and Training tomorrow (08-01-2016) at District Employment Office on Government ITI premises.

The mela is being conducted for about 250 posts in the companies Sri Venkateswara Security Services, Sri Medha Junior College, ICICI Foundation Training and Placement, Birla Sun Life Insurance, Sriram Chits, Navata Transports, Varun Training Institute, Varun Maruti, Varun Bajaj, Veltech and Doctor Reddys Foundation.

The companies will conduct written tests and personal interviews. Interested candidates with general degree, B.Tech, MBA or any other qualifications can also apply. Candidates should bring copies of their educational certificates, passport size photos and resume for the interviews.
