To strengthen the defense and coastal security, Central Government is planning to set up RADAR Station at Nagayalanka in Krishna District. Revenue Department is already instructed to setup a land of 10 acres of land, nearer to Nagayalanka Light House. This Radar station not only works for security purpose, but also works for weather update and cyclone warnings.
The key defense project – Defense Research and Development Organisation’s Missile Test Launch Facility are also allotted to Nagayalanka earlier.
There was one more Radar center in Krishna District. The Machilipatnam Radar station was installed in early 1980s
