Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has taken up a special drive to encourage the public to join the students in Government Schools. The special drive includes rallies, door to door campaigns, social media campaigns etc... The decrease in the number of students enrolled at the schools run by the VMC has waken up the officials.
The municipal corporation for the first time started a campaign, to ensure that more students got admitted as compared to last year.
The Officials said that the facilities in municipal schools have better infrastructure. The schools now have clean separate toilets for boys and girls. The quality of food has also improved.
The education is free of cost from 1st to 10th class. The education is free of cost. The corporation will only be providing free books, free uniform, afternoon lunch, free health checkups etc..
