In connection with National Youth Day commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, students of Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology (VVIT) at Nambur marked the 33 km National Integration Walk, names as ‘Dargah to Durga’
After offering prayers at Masthan Dargah, Guntur Collector Kantilal Dande flagged off the walk. The walk was held from Hazrat-e-Kalesha Mastan Darga in Guntur to Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada. The students who particpated in the rally also visited the Prakash Nagar Church and offered special prayers.
This is the seventh consecutive year, VVIT students are participating in such a rally, on the occasion of the National Youth Day, which is observed on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. More than 1,500 people including students participated in the walk.
Police personnel from Guntur, Pedakakani and Mangalagiri provided continuous support and security till the end of the walk.
