Xavier Labour Research Institute - XLRI, one of the top management institutions in India is going to set up their business school near Ibrahimpatnam, Vijayawada.

The school will be set up in 100 acres with Rs.300 crore investment. Andhra Pradesh government is going to give this 100 acres of land at a cheaper rate compared to market rate. AP government has proposed XLRI to give 300 seats to Andhra Pradesh Students. About 500 candidates will be admitted in the first phase in various programmes of the XLRI institute and will be extended to 1000 seats later.

The XLRI is known for high quality management education in India. Several CEOs and Presidents of companies have pursued their education from XLRI, Jamshedpur. The institute was set up by Society of Jesus.

Beach development plan has been prepared for Machilipatnam with an intention to develop the town as one of the best spot for tourism destinations.

The plan includes beach resorts, parks, entertainment zones, sports and hotels to attract tourists. Several works have already started for tourism development ahead of upcoming Krishna Pushkarams.

Water Sports:
While government is preparing its plans, a private agency, Water Sports Simple India Private Limited has imported boats from America, to entertain the tourists with various water sports in Manginipudi Beach. These boats are designed in such a way that, the boat will adjust to Ocean conditions. Boat Shikaar, Speed Boats, Round Fishing Boat etc.. are some water sports available. The organizers are making arrangements to start the water sports from June month end.

Jeevithiesh Duggani from Vijayawada has secured fourth rank in national level in open category in IIT-JEE (Advanced) 2016 exam. In the IIT-JEE (Advanced) 2016 exam results announced yesterday Jeevithiesh has bagged the fourth rank. He has studied in Narayana Sri Chaitanya IIT Academy.

B Ramakrishna from Guntur has bagged 15th rank in All India Open Category. He is a student of Bhashyam IIT Academy.

Students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh grabbed five of the top 10 ranks.

Vijayawada Needs U, a NGO organisation has released the performance report cards of 24 Andhra Pradesh MP's. Each individual report contains attendance, questions asked, debates participated, funds allotted and spent and the private bills put on by the member.

As per the reports issued by VnU, 14 MP's have more than 80% attendance. Regarding the questions asked Kottapalli Geeta stood top by asking 385 questions in the parliament, followed by Galla Jaydev with 252 questions. Young MP Rammohan Naidu, stood next by asking 237 questions. Regarding participation in debates too Galla Jaydev stood first with participating in 62 debates, followed by Rammohan Naidu with 57 discussions. Kesineni Nani has an attendance with 83 percent. 

VnU (Vijayawada Needs U) founder Mr.Kilaru Naga Sravan has released the reports of the MP's in a press conference. He said that, these reports not only make all the MP's feel responsible, but it will also help the people who voted, to realize what the leaders have been upto in the last 2 years.
