Two mini multiplex theaters at Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) in Vijayawada is ready for inauguration. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the two mini theaters on June 6th. The theaters have come with a name of "Y-Screens"

Below are the features of Miniplex:

  • The mini digital theatre features two screens
  • Each with 130 seating capacity
  • The ticked is priced at Rs 80
  • Theater would be running 24/7, Cinemas would be running from 9.00 AM to 1.00 AM and from 1.00 AM to 9.00 AM it would be screened, about government policies and its advertisements (For this the charge would be Rs.20)
  • There would be an online ticket booking facility also to book cinema tickets
  • The mini theatre is being built on 4,356 square feet area
  • The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1.3 crore

A request from a girl in Mahanadu, is approved by Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Yesterday. A young girl in her speech in Mahanadu, requested Chief Minister to give free cycles to girl students. She has recollected that, while she was studying, she has got free cycle from then TDP government and she used to go on to school and cycle. Now she has completed here PG. She, requested to implement this again, so that many girl students can use this opportunity to study in the schools. The dropout rate among the girls was high as the parents are not willing to send their wards to schools outside their village without a proper mode of transport.

As this is also one of the TDP promises in 2014 elections, AP Cabinet yesterday has decided to distribute bicycles to girl students studying in government, aided and municipal schools.

The government plans to implement the scheme in all 13 districts, and as many as 1.80 lakh girl students will be benefited.

The Andhra Pradesh government will observe a week-long Nava Nirmana Deeksha from June 2, the day the erstwhile state was bifurcated two years ago. It has decided to observe the day as "reconstruction day' as bifurcation of the undivided Andhra Pradesh was carried out against the wishes of the people.

The state government is using the occasion every year to highlight the injustice' caused to the state by the Congress which was in power then. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the deeksha at Vijayawada on June 2 at Benz Circle. Similar deekshas will be organised at all district and mandal headquarters. Rallies will be held in villages and towns where a Nava Nirmana Deeksha pledge will be administered to the people.

Chief Minister Urged people to do the pledge in whichever place they are at 11.00 AM on June 2nd

With the government of Andhra Pradesh aiming to attract investments worth Rs.40,000 crore and create 4 lakh jobs, here's the progress in the electronics sector in the last two years.

  1. Foxconn - One of the largest manufacturers of mobile phones has set up a manufacturing plant in Chittoor.
    No.of jobs to be created: Phase 1 - 6,000 jobs; Phase 2 - 1,000 jobs
    Capacity: Phase 1 - 1 million smartphones; Phase 2 - 2.5 million smartphones
  2. Xiaomi - The Chinese handset maker has partnered with Foxconn to launch its first India-made smartphone in Visakhapatnam.
  3. BEL - Setting up a defence system integration complex in Palasamudram of Anantapur district with an investment of Rs. 500 crore.
  4. Gionee - The smartphone maker has partnered with Foxconn to manufacture its F and P series smartphones at the Sri City facility, with an investment of Rs. 300 crore.

Upcoming projects:

At the Venkateshwara Mobile and Electronics Manufacturing Hub at the industrial park at Renigunta near Tirupati, at the 122-acre electronics manufacturing hub in Tirupati, Micromax will utilise 15 acres, Celkon 20 acres, Karbonn 15.28 acres and Lava 20 acres for their respective facilities.

Together, the four brands are aiming to produce more than seven crore devices at the production hub per year. They will be investing Rs 2,000 crores in phases at the hub, located near Renigunta airport, Chittoor district.

With good response from citizens over Gannavaram - Vijayawada beautification, CRDA is planning to beautify the express way from Vijayawada to Guntur. CRDA and NHAI has done beautification from Gannavaram to Vijayawada, of 21.2 km stretch. CRDA is emphasised over the need for the green corridor of international standards.

According to CRDA, the Vijayawada - Guntur Express way beautification will be done by Krishna Pushkarams. Tenders have been called and the notification is kept on CRDA website. The last date for tenders is June 6th. On the same day the works would be allocated. The total project cost would be Rs.15.97 crores. The total project would be done in three packages, to complete the works at the earliest.
