Stressing on creating an ecosystem to encourage budding entrepreneurs, the Chief Minister suggested organizing an event in Visakhapatnam to bring together youngsters with start-up ideas and venture capitalists and investors to encourage in establishing them as creators of unique technology products.

In a major boost to the government’s initiative to encourage start-up and incubation centers in Andhra Pradesh, Government of Andhra Pradesh has signed a MoU with NASSCOM.

Under its 10,000 start-ups initiative, NASSCOM today announced setting up a warehouse in Vizag where technology entrepreneurs with innovative ideas will be nurtured, mentored and funded by venture capitalists and investors.

The Indian government has banned around 344 fixed dosed combination drugs, including Pfizer's cough syrup Corex, Procter & Gamble's Vicks Action 500 Extra and Crocin Cold and Flu, this week citing their potential risks.

The government extended the ban to common medicines such as Crocin Cold and Flu, D-Cold Total, Sumo, Gastrogyl, Chericof, Nasivion, Nimulid, Dolo, Decoff, O2 and Oflox.

The ban, which comes into effect immediately, follows recommendations of an expert committee formed to examine the efficacy of these drug combinations

The ban is estimated to result in significant losses for the pharma industry and impact over 2,700 medicine brands, including Abbott Healthcare, Lupin, Sun Pharma, Glenmark, Wockhardt, Aristo and Intas.
