Japan Delegates have come today to Vijayawada and inspected the Metro Corridors which is going to be started at Vijayawada. Earlier JAICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) has told to fund the amount of 4200 crores and it has asked an estimated time of 1.5 years. But with the intervention of Chief Minister, JAICA has decided to give the loan amount of 4200 crores by June, July this year and accepted to start the works ASAP.

The ghat road leading to Kanaka Durga Temple atop the Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada wears a deserted look as the oppressive heat forced people to stay indoors.

Vijayawada City is gearing up for the nine day long festival Sri Rama Navami which will commence from Friday. All the markets are geared up with busy activates of people to celebrate the festival on a grand note. All the major centers of the city are decorated with pandals and are illuminated with festival look.

The Lord Rama Temples at Patamata, Krishnalanka, Ranigarithota, Poornandampeta, Ayodhya Nagar, Veterinary colony, Singh Nagar and Bhavanipuram have been geared up for the festival.

Rama Navami, the nine-day long festival which will commence on Friday, temples and markets are abuzz with activity for celebrating Sri Rama Navami on a grand note. Major junctions are decorated and illuminated with a festive look. Organizers have put up huge pandals for the festival at colonies and on prime locations in the city.

The prominent ones being the pandals erected on Besant Road, Benz Circle and One Town. The festivities will begin at 9 a.m. and the celestial wedding will be held at 10.30 a.m. ‘Mutyala Talambralu’ will be held at noon.

Sri Sitarama Kalyana Mahotsava Abhivriddhi Committee on Besant Road has come out with a colourful booklet-invitation with details about the programmes and sponsors. The Committee has been organising the celebrations since 1955. The Committee has also made arrangements for ‘annadanam’

On the occasion of BR Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday would lay the foundation stone for double bedroom houses at Jakkampudi in Krishna district in Vijayawada.

Over six lakh double-bedroom houses are to be constructed in AP for the poor. Chandrababu Naidu had earlier said that it is a dream of every person to own a house and the TDP government will be fulfilling the dream at a cost of Rs. 16,000 crores in the state.

Housing Minister Kimidi Mrunalini said that the government will construct six lakh houses for the poor and weaker sections under the NTR Housing Scheme that will be launched in 774 villages on Thursday by the people’s representatives in 126 Assembly constituencies.
