Vignan's University VC Lavu Srikrishna Devaraylu said that the university was offering innovative courses for the benefit of the students.

Apart from adopting latest courses in terms of science and technology, Vignan University is also offering courses like Agriculture Engineering and Textile Engineering.

Since Guntur district is famous for agriculture and has also been emerging as hub of ginning mills, they have introduced related courses. Vignan University is the only university in the state to offer Textile Engineering course.

On the day of festival of colors, the capital city mourned with tears. The waters of river Krishna turned red with the deaths of five. A few hours back a woman jumped into back waters of praksam Barrage along with a baby in her hand. The police were shocked to hear the news about death of Siddartha Engineering College Students from a visible distance from the spot where the woman jumped.

Six of the Siddardha Engineering College students met today morning at their houses to enjoy the festival. As planned they kicked off themselves with blast of Laughs and colors. The guys then went into crazy thought of playing in waters of river Krishna.

The young blood moved towards the river and reached Seethanagaram a few steps away from Prakasam Barrage. They played among themselves sometime and then went mad while playing with a bottle which took the lives of three of them. The bottle was kicked into waters and then they all together went into river to recollect bottle where one lost control and then slowly remaining were dragged and fell losing control. However two managed to come out and saved one where the remaining three were left to heavens. The students rang up ambulance which declared that they were no more.

This made the students and people of Vijayawada feel sad as five were drowned into river on the same day. A few months back three inter college girls who left college for friends enjoyed at waters and were found drowned at same spot said people.

Lepakshi Craft Bazaar being organized at PWD Grounds in Vijayawada is drawing good crowds. As the people remained indoors during day time with the prevailing heat wave, crowds are being seen at craft bazaar in the evening. There are around 230 stalls with handicrafts of all the sates were set up in the craft bazaar. This is joinly organized by Central handicrafts department and Lepakshi handicrafts emporium.

There was a good demand for Kalamkari, wood carving, Tanjore paintings and Mangalagiri cotton fabrics.

Parakasam barrage, the most prettiest and visual wonder of Vijayawada , which stood in history as one of the best places of Vijayawada now became a sensation with suicide of a lady. As per the police and witness a woman jumped off from Prakasam Barrage with a kid in her hand this morning.

A auto driver, who live witnessed the incident took this to eyes of police who are under survey lines of Prakasam Barrage. As soon as the police came to know of this they started an immediate search in the waters of river Krishna. The police hasn’t found the lady or kid but saw the bag which the lady carried floating on water.

The police are trying their level best to find the bodies, as the details of the lady and baby remained mysterious. They are using huge nets as a part of their search but hasn’t found any clues or suspects. The police now started to move towards the float of water and were making all possible ways to find the bodies and declared that they were dead as it is impossible to live after getting dipped into waters as the depth was too high and even the floating.

To the surprise till now no one has come forward complaining of missing of child and mother.
It is known that a woman committed suicide few month back on the same barrage but was saved by an auto driver whose identity wasn’t known to anyone but this time unfortunately no one saved or observed them. Many times police were assisted by public to take necessary steps to avoid the repetition of these incidents but the police department left those words in vain which resulted in loss of two lives today.
