Prakasam Barrage is going to glitter like never before for the upcoming Krishna Pushkarams. Trail run of the same have been done yesterday for three pillars, which are illuminated with 18 color lamps. These lamps are changing colors and the Prakasam Barrage is illuminated like never before. With the reflections of lights falling on the River Water, it is a good experience for visitors.

According to officials, the barrage will be decorated with permanent lighting works at the time of Krishna Pushkaralu. Irrigation minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao instructed the officials to decorate the barrage before the mega occasion. Already, the citizens are in the habit of visiting the barrage for spending time, especially for holidays and evenings. The newly proposed illumination would draw more visitors.

The lighting system on the two sides of Prakasam barrage, laser show and premier fountain would be developed in a permanent manner.

Excise Minister K. Ravindra on Saturday said that the government would give a fillip to beach tourism in Krishna district.

Mr. Ravindra inaugurated a boating facility at the Manginapudi beach near Machilipatnam.

Water Sports Simple India Private Limited came forward to operate boats at the beach in collaboration with the Tourism Department.

Water Sports Simple India Private Limited has imported boats from America, to entertain the tourists with various water sports in Manginipudi Beach. These boats are designed in such a way that, the boat will adjust to Ocean conditions. Boat Shikaar, Speed Boats, Round Fishing Boat etc.. are some water sports available.

durga temple EO IAS 03072016

In a significant step to streamline the administration of the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada, the Andhra Pradesh Government has for the first time appointed an IAS officer as the temple's Executive Officer (EO).

In a minor reshuffle of bureaucrats today, the Government today posted A Surya Kumari, a promotee IAS officer of 2008 batch, as the Durga Devasthanam EO. She is the first ever women EO for Durga Temple. As the Krishna Pushkaralu are round the corner and huge number of devotees are expected to take darshan of Durga Mata, government has taken up this decision. Surya Kumari has work experience as special grade EO in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.

Surya Kumari is also a citizen of Vijayawada. She has his own house in Patamata. She has studied in Maris Stella College.

underground water increase in andhra 07032016

With the Government of AP taking up water conservation, construction of rain water harvesting pits, desilting and dredging through Neeru-Pragati and Panta Sanjeevani along with a good monsoon blessing the State, the ground water levels in the state have increased.

In drought-hit Rayalseema, the water conservation efforts have shown tremendous results. In Last May, the ground water levels in Rayalseema were at 21.95 metres and this May, it has risen to 16.24 metres. This means the ground water level has increased by 5.71 metres.

Throughout Andhra Pradesh, the ground water level has increased by 0.99 metres, with Chittoor occupying the first place in ground water level increasing the most - by 16.99 metres.

Through Desilting and dredging, the government has been able to increase water storage by 6.6 TMC and have been able to bring 68,095 acres under ayacut.

Rain water harvesting program across the state has helped increase the storage of water by 7.70 TMC. Under Panta Sanjeevani, 1,14,882 water storage pits were dug up and several thousands of acres of farm land has been brought under ayacut.

While 37% of the state has ground water levels between 3 and 8 metres, 8% of the state, has the level above 3 metres and in 55% of the state, the levels are beyond 8 metres.

pattiseema starts from july6th 1
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in his press conference at Vijayawada said that, Pattiseema would start from July 6th and the excess Godavari water will be diverted to Krishna Delta through Pattiseema.

Pattiseema is a project which Andhra Pradesh State government has taken up for integration of two major rivers Godavari and Krishna and has finished the project in a record time. Pattiseema project will bring the 80 TMC water to River Krishna. Twenty-four 6,300 horse power motors and another 24 numbers of 5,300 horse power with the capacity to lift 8,500 cusecs were commissioned.

Farmers in Krishna Delta are waiting for Pattiseema water to be released into the Krishna Western Delta region, so that they can take up cultivation.
