The State Government plans to integrate Telugu Ancient, Traditional and Mythological Telugu Culture into the beautification drive of Vijayawada city. Guizhoc International Investment Company (GIIC) from China is taking up the project of Vijayawada beautification.

As Government is more focused on the Telugu Culture, Guizhoc International Investment Company (GIIC) has approached Cultural Centre of Vijayawada (CCV), for taking their suggestions on how to integrate the development with Telugu Culture.

The government proposes to invest Rs.1,500 crore for developing tourist spots in Vijayawada. The Krishna River and the three major canals — Ryve’s, Bandar, and Eluru — criss-crossing the city and the several hillocks are going to be tourist spots. Government is planning to complete this before Krishna Pushkarams.

Gannvaram Airport is going to be an international airport very soon. Line is cleared to run the first international service between Vijayawada and Singapore. A decision on this is taken in "Aviation Congress" which is held in Visakhapatnam yesterday.

Singapore Airlines has shown interest to run flight service between Singapore and Vijayawada. A delegation from Singapore Airlines will come and review the possibilities. They have not come to a conclusion, whether to run directly from Vijayawada to Singapore or from Vijayawada - Vizag - Singapore.

Airport Director G. Madhusudana Rao talked to all the big players in the "Aviation Congress" and explained about Gannavaram Airport. The facility is capable of handling A321, which will be its ‘critical aircraft’ in future. The total number of aircraft movements in a year is set to touch nearly 20690 by 2018-19 from approximately 10,550 now.

At present, the Vijayawada airport provides connectivity to Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Visakhapatnam.

A proposal for operating flights to Kadapa and Tirupati and some other south Indian cities is on the cards. TruJet is the new entrant while the other existing operators — Spice Jet, Air Costa and Air India — have drawn up larger plans for the city.

Students of Samana Institute for Design Studies (SIDS), Vijayawada, has showcased designs of Kalamkari at a show held in the TFL on Sunday.

Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) is providing Unique Digital Addressing Solution for Urban Dwellings (UDASUD) for the households in the city. With this, a metal plate will be installed to each house. It contains navigation details and address location services. Property tax will also be synchronize to this service.

This would be done by VMC free of cost. The project has been taken on pilot basis for 3 lakh assessments.

Already Zipper Company has started this and providing zipper code by visiting the houses. Right now, they are providing stickers only and later it would be converted to metal sheets.

Vijayawada has inorganic growth and navigation with door numbers is a big headache. The new system helps in easily changing or retrieving a new address at any time and it would navigate through online.
