The AP assembly is planning to double salaries for AP MLA's and MLC's. Currently they are receiving 90,000, it will be hiked to 1,50,000.

AP Speaker Kodela Sivaraprasada Rao Proposed a basic salary of Rs 1.5 Lakh, House Rent as 50,000 and Car loan 40 lakhs, which is previously 15 Lakhs only. The committee has recommended the hike after taking the inflation and increasing cost of all products and services into consideration. Even the salaries of government employees have been revised by 43 per cent.

Recently the Telangana Government has expressed its interest over hiking MLAs and MLCs salary and now the AP Government seems to have taken a leaf out of it and mulling over to increase its MLAs and MLCs salary.

Delhi Government also hiked salary 400%,MLAs will get a basic salary of Rs 50,000, constituency allowance of Rs 50,000, conveyance allowance of Rs 30,000, communication allowance of up to Rs 10,000 and secretarial allowance of Rs 70,000. The basic salary of ministers has been increased from Rs 20,000 to Rs 80,000 and their constituency allowance has been increased from Rs 18,000 to Rs 50,000.

As a part to beautify Vijayawada city and to have a riverfront to the city, VMC is making arrangements to beautify the Krishna riverfront from Prakasam Barrage to Bhavani Island of around 2.5 KM. With the concept of Blue and Green City, VMC is taking all measures to beautify the city. It starts from Model Guest House near Indrakeeladri and passes through Durgha Ghat, Punnami Ghat to Bhavani Ghat near Bhavanipuram. All the encroachments have been removed to beautify this area. With beautification, this will also have entertainment, food courts etc...

Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner Veerapandian has held a review in his office with China GICC Delegates and discussed about beautifying the riverfront in the city. Sub-Collector G.Srujana also has participated in the meeting.

Veerapandian has asked the officials to prepare a blueprint of the design and handover to GICC. Also, he asked to remove the encroachments and also any private lands in the riverfront and asked to pay the required compensation.

Once VMC has handed over the blue print, China based GICC will do further refinement according to their requirement and start the works to beautify the riverfront in Vijayawada city.

As Kanakdurga Flyover also is being ready, the spot would be very good looking with the riverfront beautification.

Telugu Desam Party drawing new plans to upcoming Rajya Sabha Elections, where elections are to fill up four vacancies in the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh quota which will be held in May. It requires around 42 votes (MLAs) to get one nominee elected in the first round of counting.

As per the strength in the Assembly, the TD-BJP combine has 106 votes and will be able to send three candidates to the Rajya Sabha while the YSR Congress, with its original strength of 67 MLAs, can send one. Normally, parties field candidates based on their respective strength, thus making the election unanimous.
