Low-cost carrier Air Pegasus would launch its services from Gannavaram Very Soon. Ashwin Thomas, Director of Air Pegasus, said that Air Pegasus will be launching its services from Vijayawada to nearby places very soon. The launching dates and schedules are yet to be known.

With this, Air Pegasus is expanding its reach to the fourth city in South India in less than three months after its first launch in April 2015. Since April, Air Pegasus has launched its flight service to Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, Hubballi in Karnataka and Cudappah in Andhra Pradesh.ga

By April 1st, all important government hospitals in the state will have CT scanning and radiology wings, according to health minister Kamineni Srinivas. Also Ultra Sound Scanning would be performed on pregnant woman twice during pregnancy from March 8th.

Government was focusing on providing free diagnostic tests at all government hospitals. Also Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammonhas said tha works worth Rs.2.70 crore and 1.30 crore were being taken up in the new and old government hospitals in Vijayawada. In addition to this, Rs.4 crore worth works, including laying on internal roads in New Government Hospital will soon be taken up.

The two-day Collectors’ conference, kicked off in Gateway Hotel at Vijayawada. It is going to be held on February 22 and 23. State government is going to review the progress achieved in the first three quarters and give a direction for the fourth quarter. The conference is divided into six sessions.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has delivered the keynote address. Chief Minister has repeated that we should work towards double digit growth rate by next year. Also Chief Minister has released the policy documents of Fisheries, Lift Irrigation, Inter linking of Rivers, Neeru Chettu, and Energy.

All the district collectors, Ministers and principal secretaries of various departments have participated in the conference.

The small and tiny roads of the sleepy villages of Amaravati Capital region turning into metro roads. The Vijayawada - Amaravati main road has been switching into wide road to help for the transportation of construction materials to temporary secretariat at Velagapudi.

The Larsen & Toubro Limited and Shapoorji Pallonji bagged tender for construction of temporary secretariat which is technically called as interim government complex in 45 acres at Velagapudi for Rs.201 crore. The contractors have started works at the proposed temporary secretariat place. But the tiny and old roads are becoming hurdles towards shifting of heavy machinery and construction materials. Hence the government has decided to widen the roads.

Already the road at entrance of Vijayawada-Amaravati was widened. The Roads and Buildings department and revenue Officials removed shops and houses on the either sides of the road for widening. Earlier the road was only four meters of width but now it is widened to nearly 9 meters giving good transportation facility with Rs.12 crore expenditure.

The widening of the Vijayawada-Amaravati road is completed till Venkatapalem and rest of road would be completed soon to help swift completion of temporary secretariat.
