Vijayawada city is gearing up for New Year celebrations in a big way. All the start hotels and entertainment centers are coming out with attractive events and attractive packages for New Year Celebrations.

Do you want to enjoy your new year party in the city. Below are the top New Year events happening in the city on December 31st.

The Haailand Resort and Theme Park at Chinnakakani in Guntur district is gearing up to host 'New Year Celebrations" with music director SS Thaman and Jabardasth Team, from 7.30 PM onwards on December 31st

Adventura, near Vijayawada Club, Tadepalli is organizing New Year Party, where DJ Ana from Mumbai and DJ Paul from Hyderabad will rock the event. Other events are also organized from 9.00 PM onwards on December 31st

The Gateway hotel will organise the “New Year Eve 2016", to celebrate the New Year. The hotel plans to offer prizes to its customers as part of the celebrations.

The Fortune Murali Park has been decked up to welcome the New Year with attractive packages. Playback singers will be part of the celebrations.

Innotel Hotel, Near Ramavarappadu Ring Road, is going to rock with DJ, Ronnie Bassroller. He is the only Indian DJ/producer who collaborated with the International pop artist

Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation's Berm Park, will also hold an event to usher in the New Year.

New Year celebrations will also be held at the DV Manor Food Plaza, Vijayawada Club and at several other places.

Several bar and restaurants have been also decked up for New Year celebrations. Citizens, particularly those who have access to farmhouses are also expected to host private parties.

Ministers Kollu Ravindra and Devineni Umamaheswara Rao inaugurated National Handlooms Expo at Krishna District Rice and Oil Millers’ Association Hall in Gandhinagar in Vijayawada.  The expo will run till January 11. Weavers from different parts of the country are displaying their products at the expo.

BC Welfare and Handlooms Minister Kollu Ravindra said "To protect interests of the weavers the state government runs many handloom exhibitions to promote the handloom textiles. The Cabinet has given its nod to waive loans of weavers amounting to Rs.110 crore. The decision would benefit as many as 25,000 people from the community."

Andhra Pradesh new capital Amaravati is going to have an underwater tunnel in Krishna River. According to the detailed master plan, the tunnel would be about three-km long, for vehicular traffic. There are around 200 such tunnels all over the world, and this would be the first of its kind in India. This would be the first underwater road tunnel in India.

Government is planning to construct a transparent glass tunnel, which would be a major boost to tourist attraction. This is expected to construct from Backwaters of Prakasam Barrage to Ferri Village near Ibrahimpatnam. This is going to be on the west side of the government core area where Assembly, Secretariat and Raj Bhavan would come up. The Union shipping ministry recently launched a feasibility study on two such tunnels in different parts of the country. State Government will soon approach Centre seeking permission for the tunnel in Krishna River.

Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) had constructed a walking track from Ramavarappadu Ring to Government Polytechnic College. The track is named as "Happy Street Green Walk"

Vijayawada city mayor Koneru Sridhar, Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan, Municipal commissioner G Veerapandian and other corporators inaugurated the new walking track. Different walkers associations participated in the 3K Walk.

Beautification of the highway road from Gannavaram airport to Screw Bridge was done at a cost of 6 crore. As part of this, green walking track was constructed with 11 lakh and greenery was developed with Rs.1.70 lakh.

VMC has taken necessary measures to hand over the park to either local residential welfare associations or park committees for maintenance.
