Bhattiprolu which has got its prominence as one of the Buddhist tourist spot all over the world is into news now. To bring back the past glory and to attract tourists, Tourism department is going to construct at big 40 feet Dhyana Buddha Statue, including museum and library.

The project is going to coming up with Rs.60 lakhs and by next Buddha Pournami, the construction of the statue would be done. The tender also have been finalised and works would be started very soon.

Last year on May 4th Buddha Jayanti celebrations have been done here and also keeping the prominence of this place, Mud and Water from this place have been taken to "Amaravati Foundation Ceremony" last year.

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is going to Set up a Rs.300-crore Plant at Nimmakuru in Krishna District. The foundation stone also would be laid very soon and the plant would come into operation in three years. IR seekers, night vision devices and thermal imaging cameras would be manufacture here. The foundation should be done on April 24th, but due to unavailability of BEL CMD Sunil Kumar Sarma. Around 50 acres of land has been given to this project. Approximately, 1000 jobs would be created.

This would be the second manufacturing facility after Machilipatnam in Krishna District, which is getting a turnover of around Rs.500 crore.

Goa-based Champions Yacht Club, a private firm providing 17 types of water sports in Krishna River near Bhavani Island are going to start rain dance on special designed Yacht boats. This would be a thrilling experience to the youth, to enjoy rain dance in the middle of Krishna River.

Also a new 200 seater cruise boat is getting ready which would be floating on the river and this would be given for private parties. Also other new things like 25-seater floating restaurant, a sea plane and adventure games like paintball, tandem cycling hockey, skateboards and skate-wheelers and gunshot with balloons are also going to be setup in Bhavani Island.

Guntur has stood first in swatchh rankings in Andhra Pradesh. Swatchh Bharat Mission under "Quality Council of India" has done this survey. The survey is done in 476 towns all over India, in which 28 are from Andhra Pradesh. Guntur has secured the first place in the rankings, followed by Narasaropet in second rank and Tenali in the third rank. Machilipatnam from Krishna District stood in 15th rank and Gudivada in 18th rank.

The survey has taken 19 parameters to given the rankings. Every parameter has marks out of total 100. The survey would be conducted again in October 2016.
