The Department of Music, Dance, Animation and Sound of the Andhra Loyola College organized the 3rd clay modeling workshop and exhibition in the campus of Friday. The two day workshop concluded on Friday.

Renowned Sculptor Mr.B.Das who addressed the students on the occasion and gave tips on how to mold and sculpt the clay models. Students of department presented various clay models in the exhibition. The model of Lord Buddha stood as the best clay model in the exhibition. Cinderella, Amaravati, a face of a woman, a model of three faces of mood description, lighthouse, kugfu pand and other models too attracted the visitors. loyola clay expo 1

Indo-UK Institute of Health (IUIH) is going to invest Rs.1,000 crore in the field of healthcare. Andhra Pradesh government signed a MoU with the Indo-UK Institute of Health in vizag. According to MoU, a mega hospital with a total cost of Rs 1,000 crore, with 1000 bed capacity will be built in Andhra Pradesh capital city, Amaravati. Along with the hospital, Medical College, research and training institutions will also be set up.

Andhra Pradesh Government will give hundred acres of land to this project. The foundation stone for the mega project regarded as “Health Care City” will be held in July. IUIH Chairman Mike Parker said that the construction of the mega hospital in Amaravati will be completed in 36 months.

Krishna Collector Babu A. inspected the Kanaka Durga flyover construction works, and said that the flyover would be ready by Krishna Pushkarams. Collector said that 30 acres of land in Gollapudi, belonging to the Wakf Board had been handed over to the R&B Department for carrying out the construction works. Pre-casting works were being done in the site for speedy completion of the flyover construction. The project works is being continuously monitored by Vijayawada urban, rural MROs and they are making sure, everything is going according to the plan.

Soma Developers, which has bagged the contract of the Kanaka Durga flyover is deploying more and more workers and they are working round the clock in three shifts. Approximately 1000 government and private workers every day in this prestigious project. Latest technology is being used in every stage of the construction. 5 Piling rigs are being used.

Around 44 Pillars are being constructed for this flyover, from Bhavanipuram with Seethammavari Padalu, of which 9 pillars would be constructed into the Krishna river. The pillars are dig 140 feet into the ground. For each pillar 24, 20mm rods are being used. Around 336 piles have to be constructed and already 124 have been done, along the 2.55 km-long elevated structure. Soma Developers said that a total of 130 vehicles with casting equipment and material will reach Vijayawada from New Delhi in the next few weeks.

Also the four lane National Highway works are also going on pararlelly, with the six lane flyover. District Administration is confident to complete this by Krishna pushkaram

The new fleet of high-end Amaravati Buses inagurated by APSRTC is getting a good response for passengers. To attract the public more, from Friday, January 5th, APSRTC authorities are offering complimentary toffees an welcoming the passengers. As a part of this, a chocolate and a mint are given to people travelling in Amaravati buses.

APSRTC is operating seven Amaravati services to Hyderabad, six services to Bengaluru and two to Visakhapatnam. "Amaravati" fleet of services is in addition to the existing Garuda, Garuda plus, Vennela, Indra, Super Luxury, Deluxe and Express services.

Train numbers 12717 and 12718 Ratnachal Express, the mostly choosed medium of transport between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, will start its journey again from February 8th, with a revised composition of comprising 17 coaches, which consists of two air-conditioned chair cars, eight second class sitting coaches, four general second class coaches, two second luggage–cum–break van coaches, and a pantry car. As we know, the train is burnt on Sunday, by agitators of Kapu Garjana. Since then the train is cancelled and people are looking into private and RTC buses.

Ratnachal Express has a history of 19 years. The train will travel across 12 major stations, from Vijayawada to Vizag. It carries almost 5000 passengers everyday and collects Rs.6 lakh every day. The train starts at 6.05 AM every day from Vijayawada, and passes through Nuzvid, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Nidadavolu, Rajamundry, Samarlakota, Ananvaram, Tuni, Anakapalli, Duvvada and reaches Visakhapatnam by 12.15 PM. And in return, it starts at 12.40 PM from Vizag and reaches Vijayawada by 6.30 PM. Passengers are very comfortable with the train timings and also the duration as the travel time is just 6 hours.
