Rev.Thelagatho Joseph Raja Rao has been inducted as the sixth bishop of Vijayawada Diocese of Roman Catholic Mission by Rev.Salvatore Pennacchio, Apostolic Nunico and ambassador to Pope in India an Nepal, amid huge gathering of devotees on the grounds of Bishop Grassi High School in the city on Tuesday.

The Episcopal ordination has been carried out in the presence of Archbishop of Hdyerabad Rev.Thumma Bala and Archbishop of Visakhapatnam Rev. Mallavarapu Prakash at the holy mass conducted in the evening.

Bhisop Raja Rao, 63, a native of Pedda Avutapalli Village, close to Vijayawada, is an alumnus of Andhra Loyola College. He served in various positions in Mysore, Bangalore, Rome and others places.

The devotees offered fruits to the bishop, and sang holy songs, on the occasion. Managements of Maris Stella College, Nirmala High School, Loyola College and St Paul Cathedral were also present during the installation ceremony of the bishop.

Vijayawada, Guntur cities continue to be under fog and mist cover. The blanket of fog and loads of mist is covering the city early morning, since the past 4 days. The city was in this cover until 10 AM. Traffic moment also is very slow due to fog, and the drivers are keeping on the vehicle lights and driving with extra caution.

Though Buses and Trains are running on time, flights such as Air Costa, Spice Jet, Air India, both arriving and departing from Gannavaram were delayed by a couple of hours owing to thick fog. There must be at least 1,500 m visibility required for landing of flights, there was no visibility even to the extent of 200 m.

Styles and Weaves designer exhibition was inaugurated at Sesha Sai Kalyana Mandapam in Vijayawada. The exhibition has around 65 stalls, which includes collections such as Designer Wear, Handloom Sarees, Designer Sarees, Fashion Jewellery, Imitation Jewelry, Lifestyle Accessories and Many more. Designers from Rajasthan, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Jaipur, Lucknow, Hyderabad, and Gujarat have brought in indo western outfits along with the traditional cotton, silk sarees apart from rich bridal collections.

The expo will be open on 2nd, 3rd, 4th February 2016. Visitors can visit the expo between 10 AM - 9 PM
