The inputs sent by people would be attended on priority and respective action would be taken. This would be a boon to women and old people who shy away physically visiting a police station.

The festival begins on October 1st. Everyday goddess Kanaka Durga will give darshan in one alankaram. There is something to cheer-up for Telugu People, where Guntur's, M.S.K. Prasad, Former India wicketkeeper was nominated as chief selector of the Senior National Selection Committee at the BCCI annual general body meeting held in Mumbai.

Prasad made his international debut in 1998, in an ODI against Bangladesh. He played six Tests and 17 One-dayers for India between 1998 and 2000. He played 96 first-class matches, scored 4021 runs at an average of 27.73 and effected 266 dismissals.

The Guntur-born became a national selector in 2015. He has also served as selector for the India U-19 team.

Eight of the 15 militants trying to cross over to the Indian side from Pakistan have been killed by the Army on Tuesday at Lachipura area of Uri sector.

The militants were reportedly trying to infiltrate into the Indian side from across the border. The fire exchange took place in the Lachipura area.

The operation is still underway as the Army believes there are seven more infiltrators in the region The encounter comes just days after four militants attacked an Army camp in Uri sector and killed 18 soldiers.

Pakistani troops today violated the border ceasefire in the same sector of Kashmir, targeting Indian army positions with small firearms.
