The plots allotment process related to the farmers of Pichukalapalem and Dondapadu villages of Guntur district was initiated by CRDA Commissioner Dr Cherukuri Sreedhar at the CRDA office, Tullur, on Tuesday under lottery basis.

The plots were given to the farmers who have given their lands to the CRDA under land pooling for capital Amaravati. Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner said that the development Works related to the ancient Pridhweeswara temple would be taken up by the CRDA after allocating space to the temple in the layout. Peg-marking would be done to the plots which were allotted under lottery basis within 15 days.

A total of 498 farmers of Pichhukalapalem have handed over 767.97 acres. The plots were given to the farmers who have given their lands to the CRDA under land pooling under lottery system in Pichukalapalem and Dondapadu villages.

243 farmers of Dondapadu have handed over 241.87 acres to the CRIDA under land pooling. Tadikonda MLA Tenali Sravana Kumar, Tullur ZPTC Bezawada Narendra Babu, Tullur MPP Vadlamudi Padmalatha, CRDA planning director R. Ramakrishna Rao, IT director Prabhakar Reddy, director (Lands) B.L. Chennakeshava Rao, Dondapadu MPTC Maineni Girija, sarpanch Kommineni Shivaiah, former sarpanch Kommineni Krishna Rao, Dondapadu competent authority Jhansee Lakshmi and former MPTC Nelakuditi Venkateswara Rao Were present in the programmes in the two Villages.

Due to the 15 days holidays due to Krishna Pushkaralu, the schools of Vijayawada, Guntur and Kurnool are going to have only give days of holidays for Dasara. The education department has decided to reduce the holidays from 12 to 5, in these three districts. While the other districts in the state would be having the 12 days holidays.

All the schools will be functioning till October 7. From October 8 to 12, they will have holidays. But some of the private schools are going to give only three days holidays to cover the syllabus, which is pending, due the holidays of Krishna Pushakralu.

Two farmers from Andhra Pradesh from Paderu and Kurnool interacted With Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday On live television as part of the 75 year platinum jubilee celebrations of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research.

Bonju Babu from Paderu and Gajendra Reddy from Kurnool has participated. As Bonju Babu, a tribal farmer, informed the PM that he cultivates turmeric in his farm and that he was told about Pitambar, the new variety of turmeric developed by Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP). PM asked him if he faced any resistance from his community or whether anyone mocked him for adopting the new turmeric variety for cultivation. Babu clarified that even though the tribals never used any new variety of seeds till now, they would welcome Pitambar, the Seeds of which were yet to be given to them.

Another farmer, Gajendra Reddy from Kurnool, spoke of how he had been cultivating millets and other crops in his drought-prone village but later started cultivating Ashwagandha, a medicinal plant, as suggested by CIMAP scientists. For this, Reddy was even introduced to Sellers at a market in Madhya Pradesh. Pitambar variety of turmeric was launched by PM on Monday as part of the celebrations

Both the farmers from AP expressed happiness over getting an opportunity to interact with the PM.

Andhra Pradesh is now becoming the manufacturing hub for engineering products like tools, defence spare parts, polymers, cables, mobiles, Solar equipment, etc. M/s. Amaravati Industries Association (AIA) comprising of 75 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) submitted their detailed project reports(DPRs), application forms and processed demand drafts at 10 per cent of land cost for provisional allotment of land and the balance amount will be paid as per the APIIC norms.

An announcement to this extent was made at a press conference held at the Industrial Park in Veerapanenigudem On Monday. The above mentioned 75 companies earlier were established in Hyderabad. Now, under the banner AIA, these companies are investing in their native state.

Earlier, the AIA had signed an MoU With the Government of Andhra Pradesh on 11 January 2016, during the 22nd CII Partnership Summit.

AIA is committed to an investment of Rs.201.50 crore for establishing engineering cluster at Veerapanenigudem which is expected to generate 2,615 new jobs. In an effort to boost the growth of MSMEs, the state government has decided to set up a model Industrial Park in 200 acres near Vijayawada. The Industrial Park will develop necessary support infrastructure. The government allocated 86 acres to AIA of the proposed 200 acres.

The famous TV9 news channel is going to be acquired by Zee group. The Hyderabad-based media firm Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited (ABCL), currently runs 7 news channels including the TV9 Kannada, TV 9 Marathi and the popular TV 9 Gujarati news channels.

According to sources, the deal is almost confirmed between TV9 Group and Zee Group and the whole thing would be closed in around two months time.

ABCL which owns TV9 is started in 2003, where Srini Raju owns 60 per cent stake in ABCL, Saif Partners holds 20 per cent and CEO Ravi Prakash owns 20 per cent of stake.

The details of the complete transaction, in terms of percentage of equity being acquired is yet to be know.
