Regani Bhavani Prasad aged 27 years old who is resident of Vijayawada has met with an accident that left him brain dead. He is a native of Pantakala Raod, Patamata. The family members of R Bhavani Prasad donated his organs to give life to 5 others. His family members donated liver, two kidneys and two eyes were donated to the needy.

According to family members, Bhavani Prasad met up with a accident on Eluru road on July 4th. After the accident he was rushed to a Help hospital in Vijayawada. Bhavani Prasad had a severe head injury and brain was badly affected.

He failed to respond to the treatment and finally was declared brain dead on Tuesday night. He was therefore shifted to Arun Kidney Centre which coordinated with Jeevandan foundation for retrieving his organs.

One of his kidneys was harvested to a patient at Aaysuh hospitals in the city while the other was operated into another at Arun Kidney Centre. His Liver was sent to a patient at Manipal hospital while both his eyes were donated to Vasan Eye Care.

The Andhra Pradesh Government inked aN MoU with State Marine Technical University of St. Petersburg to promote marine education and technology at St. Petersburg today on the 5th day of the AP delegation's tour.

The University works in close connection with United Shipbuilding Corporation and Rosoboronexport. Companies involved in the marine segment in India and AP will benefit from this collaboration. Through a power point presentation, the University authorities highlighted their capabilities. They said 60 % of their graduates are employed by shipbuilding university.

The University also has facilities for continuous upgrading of skills of shipbuilding professionals. It also concentrates on innovation and research in ship building and all aspects relating to the sea. Rakhmanov Alexey, President of United Shipbuilding Corporation said that the state university is considering to making AP the headquarters of the company in India since AP has unique marine activity.

Highlighting the opportunities available, the Chief Minister said AP is set to become a logistics hub in India. “We want to promote inland navigation and also the commercial usage of water transport. Water-based transport is cheaper when compared to other forms of transport,” the CM said.

Expressing happiness to associate with the Maritime University, the Chief Minister said that AP is planning to encourage marine education in a big way. “We will set up maritime university immediately. We have Hindustan Shipyard limited with excellent infrastructure,” the CM remarked. The university authorities added that they are opening new labs and centers of study within the university.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal has told media that Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu as super active CM in the country. Piyush Goyal said that, he did not see such an active Chief Minister so far. Chandrababu Naidu is workaholic, and he completes any work which he decides to do.

Piyush Goyal told that immediately after he took charge as Power Minister, Chandrababu Naidu has met him on the next day and submitted a report, with what he wants to his state. None of the Chief Ministers of Southern States show interest in meeting Me. Piyush Goyal also told that, Within an year, AP became a state with excess power, only because of Mr.Naidus' initiatives.

'I haven't seen a Chief Minister like Chandrababu Naidu so far. He doesn't relax until the mission taken up by him gets accomplished,' said Piyush Goyal

Visakhapatnam-Chennai industrial corridor (VCIC) is going to face good days ahead. Asian Development Bank (ADB) which is examining of funding the project is accepted to give 4200 crore in two phases. Central Government also has accepted for this and cleared the proposal and provided the guarantee for the external funding.

ADB has agreed to fund Rs.2,100 crore for the first phase of the project. The first phase of the project is expected to complete by 2019. This is going to be a major boost up for Andhra Pradesh. Asian Development Bank (ADB) has also agreed to fund another Rs.2,100 crore for the second phase, which is expected to be completed by 2022.

Once Asian Development Bank (ADB) would finalze the process of this, the tenders would be called of in September. In Andhra Pradesh, this would cover, eight coastal districts starting from Srikakulam to Nellore and Chittoor district. The Visakhapatnam-Chennai industrial corridor project will be implemented by the Andhra Pradesh Industries Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), and APTransco. A total of 10 projects will be taken up by these agencies in the first phase with Transco executing six projects. The projects relate to internal infrastructure in industrial clusters, urban water supply and climate change resilience, roads and road safety measures, and power transmission and distribution.

Singapore-based company Jurong International, would prepare the DPR of the project and submit to the government and ADB.

Many Small and medium scale industries will be promoted along the corridor.
