The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has begun building a replica of the Tirumala temple at the PWD Grounds in Vijayawada, for Krishna Pushkaralu. The replica, having a width of 82 feet and height of 130 feet, will be built on 4.8 acres. Earlier, it was estimated the replica would cost & 2.5 crore but now the estimation has risen to 3 crore.

The replica temple of Lord Venakteswara will be open for the darshan of pilgrims from August 7. All rituals performed at the Balaji temple on Tirumala would be performed in the replica temple too. For this, a team of priests from TTD Devasthanams would be arriving in the city.

The temple premises will be under the surveillance of CCTV cameras as more than 75,000 pilgrims are expected to visit it everyday. The counting of money collected in hundis will also be carried out amidst tight security, just as is done at the Tirumala temple.

The devotees will be offered chakkera pongali, pulihora as prasadams apart from mini Laddu as prasadam after having the darshan of the Lord at the replica temple. Anna Prasadam will also be organised for nearly 25,000 pilgrims daily, throughout the 12-day river fete. Over 1,000 Srivari Seva volunteers, scouts and guides, apart from 800 other personnel have been deployed on duty for Pushkaralu by the TTD at the temple in Vijayawada.

CM N. Chandrababu Naidu has allotted PWD grounds to erect the temple as it is located centrally in Vijayawada, The temple will attract many pilgrims during the 12-day event. The Dasa Bhajana round-the-clock will be another highlight. On August 7, the temple will be opened after performing agama rituals.

Andhra Pradesh is inching towards becoming the number one State in energy efficiency. CBN’s Government has launched the Energy-Efficient Endowments Project (EEEP) in seven major temples in a bid to conserve a massive 60 lakh units of power and 200 tons of LPG fuel per annum.

As part of the initiative, the government has initially selected the famous temples at Srisailam, Vijayawada (Kanakadurga temple), Srikalahasti, Kanipakam, Dwaraka Tirumala, Simhachalam and Annavaram for taking up energy efficiency measures. The State Energy Conservation Mission has already conducted a detailed study of energy consumption pattern and feasibility for measures like replacing all types of bulbs and fans with LED bulbs and energy-efficient fans, installing solar powered LED street lights and replacing the electrical geysers with solar water heaters.

All major junctions in Vijayawada city will get a facelift, with greenery and illumination as part of the arrangements for the Krishna pushkaralu. This will also fulfill a long-pending demand by citizens for renovation of traffic islands and junctions across the city, which had been neglected since years.

Special arrangements like musical fountain and laser show at the Prakasam Barrage proposed by the state government will be part of the arrangements to welcome the lakhs of devotees expected to reach the city for the pushkaralu.

Major junctions like the Benz Circle, NTR Circle, Madhu Chowk, Red Circle, Ramavarapadu, VMC office, Eluru Locks Centre, Lenin Centre and other circles in the city will be renovated on priority basis.

Colourful illumination, decorations, fountains and other attractions will be set up and wherever needed, structural repairs would be carried out.

If all goes according to the plan, by 2018 Amaravati is going to get a 10000 seated convention center, which would be the biggest in the country.

Dr. BR Shetty and his family members have arrived in a special flight to Vijayawada and met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Undavalli. BR Shetty reviewed the progress on the MoU inked in the month of May this year.

B.R Shetty in his meeting with Chief Minister showed his willingness to set up a 10,000 seat convention center, which is going to be the biggest center in India. Chief Minister suggested to establish this near the Iconic Bridge. B.R Shetty has asked to allot 50 acres of land for this project. He has assured that, the project would be completed by 2018.

On request of the Chief Minister, B.R Shetty has also shown interest in building a world-class exhibition center for holding international fairs and exhibitions. B.R Shetty also showed interest to extend help in building an amusement park and also a world class 5 star hotel. He also assured, all these projects would also be completed by 2018.
