These are the readymade rest rooms made for the security officials at CM Camp Office in Vijayawada. Right now the security persons near the entrance gate, does not have any shelter. They are doing their duty and taking rest under canopy of tents. These new readymade rest rooms are Air-Conditioned and also have chairs to take rest.
The rest rooms have arrived on a big trolley yesterday and people around that area looked at them interestingly.
78th Annual Bible Mission Convention has been started today at the open grounds spread across 70 acres opposite Acharya Nagarjuna University. The meetings have started with an inaugural prayer. The meetings are going to be held fro three days, till January 29th. Over five lakh people are expected to attend the convention in three days. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is expected to participate in any of the coming two days.
Vice President, Bible Mission and convener of meetings, J. Samuel Kiran said, the mission was founded by Father Devadas, a 20th century prophet who was known for praying and healing hundreds of sick people with divine power of the holy spirit. The bible mission festivals are aimed at promoting peace, happiness and moksha through forgiveness of sins by Jesus Christ.
The RTC and South Central Railway have been running special services to Guntur and Vijayawada. The organisers have made arrangements for providing food to the lakhs of devotees. The organisers have dug up 20 bore wells at the venue and 250 water tankers have been pressed into service. Keeping in view the security, CCTV cameras have also been set up.
As part of the beautification of Vijayawada City, the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation has planted colorful flower saplings on the divider on Bandar Road in Vijayawada. The flowers are blooming and the colourful flowers on the road-divider are grabbing the attentions of passers-by. There are plans to widen all the main roads and plant saplings on the dividers and on the road sides.
Andhra Pradesh endowments department is soon introducing a scheme, "Bhaktuni Chentaku Bhagvantudu". This is going to start from Ugadi. As part of the programme, the pujari of the local temple will visit family to bless them on seven special occasions. The pujari will visit families on seven special occasions, related to birth of a child, naming ceremony, feeding of the first meal to a child, marriage, pregnancy and give their blessings. In case of death, the pujari from the local Shiva temple will visit the family concerned and give Lord Shiva's Abhisheka jalam
They will not charge for this service. However, people are free to offer anything they like to the pujaris as `dakshina'. To begin with, temples with an income of below one lakh per year will be selected under the programme.
