To serve Amaravati, the new Andhra Pradesh Capital as the "Economic Powerhouse", government begin the process by allotting industries in this region. In this process of industrial corridor, AP Government has allotted 460 acres in Thotapalli Village in Agiripalli Mandal in Krishna District for establishing a Mega Food Park. This is a big boost to food processing sector in Krishna district. This is allotted in APIIC (AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation), for establishing a Mega Food Park. The land is allotted at a price of Rs6.00 lakh per acre.

Central Government also has given its approval and already allotted Rs50 crore as a grant-in-aid for the project. Rest of the funds will be mobilized by the State government. The total cost of the Mega Food Park is estimated to be Rs.150 crore.

Below are the conditions:

• The land should be utilized for the purpose within three years of the orders.
• Water Bodies in the existing land should not be disturbed
• APIIC should submit an annual report before March 31 on the progress of utilization to the District Collector

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu Inaugurated nine new premium buses under the brand name ‘Amaravati’ at Pandit Nehru Bus Station in Vijayawada. These buses will operate between Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Chennai, Tirupati, Kadapa and Nellore. Tariff of these will be same as "Garuda Plus"

• The buses are manufactured in Sweden
• The cost of each Scania bus is Rs. 97.43 lakh
• The vehicles have two surveillance cameras installed inside the bus
• The system has the facility to store video recordings up to 15 days
• The new buses also have fire detection and suppression system for engine room and luggage boot
• There is an emergency exit door for each bus.
• The vehicle is also equipped with an auto manual transmission system. If the auto system fails, one can also run with Manual System

SpiceJet is starting two new flights to Hyderabad, Bangalore from Vijayawada, from today. The extra services will be running in Friday and Saturday. Already there are three spicejet services running from Vijayawada.

The flight from Bangalore will take off at 6.30 PM and reaches Vijayawada at 7.45 PM. The same will start at 8.05 PM in Vijayawada and reach Bangalore at 9.20 PM.

Another flight service from Hyderabad reaches Vijayawada at 5.45 PM. The same will start at 6.05 PM in Vijayawada and reach Hyderabad at 6.55 PM.

On the occassion of New Year, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has visited Kanakadurga temple, located on Indrakeeladri hills in Vijayawada. Chief Minister along with his wife participated in the Poojas. Temple authorities welcomed chief Minister on the occassion. The chief minister couple has presented Pattu Vasthralu to Goddess Kanakadurga and offered special prayers.
