ఏపీ ఎన్నికల కమిషనర్ రమేష్ కుమార్ తొలగింపును అడ్డుకోవాలని గవర్నర్ కు చంద్రబాబు విజ్ఞప్తి చేస్తూ, ఈ మేరకు గవర్నర్ కు చంద్రబాబు మెయిల్ చేసారు. రమేష్ కుమార్ ను అక్రమంగా తొలగించారని గవర్నర్ దృష్టికి తెచ్చారు చంద్రబాబు. స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికలు కొనసాగుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో ఎన్నికల కమిషనర్ పదవీకాలం కుదిరించడం.. అర్హతలను మారుస్తూ దొడ్డిదారిన ఆర్డినెన్స్ తేవాల్సిన అవసరం ఏంటని చంద్రబాబు ప్రశ్నించారు. ఇది చంద్రబాబు రాసిన ఈమెయిల్... "Currently, elections to local bodies have been postponed mid-way due to the threat of COVID. Thus, local body elections are in the process. In such circumstances, what is the necessity to bring in amendment through backdoor in the form of ordinance to change the term and eligibility of the SEC. Dr. N. Ramesh Kumar, the present AP State Election Commissioner has been appointed by HE Governor of Andhra Pradesh in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 243 K of the Constitution of India read with Sub-Section (2) of Section 200 of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994. Accordingly, he was appointed on 30th January 2016 for a period of five years.
